Wedding
After 10 years together in March this year Lucy and I got married.
The weather turned out a treat, overlooking San Remo back beach for the ceremony and a cruisy cocktail reception at the back of my parents house.
We had the best time imaginable with family and friends, but the day goes by so quick.
I’m so happy and grateful to have someone in my life that I connect with on so many levels, we have so much fun together and I couldn’t of dreamt of a better wife.
Just like to thank everyone who helped celebrate and also set up the wedding. Especially Melissa at Shmik Event Design who organised and set up everything and made the reception and ceremony look so amazing. Would highly recommend her for any event.
Taking t-shirt on and off
This video is about Beau Vernon taking t-shirt on and off
A big difference to the video I posted 1 and a bit years ago of me taking off my t shirt.
Transferring in and out of bed
Transferring in and out of bed
This video is about Beau Vernon putting on shoes and socks C5-6 Quadriplegic
Thought I would start doing a few videos to show people how I go about it. Im 20 months post injury and have no triceps and no finger movement and have had to work really hard to get to where I am now. Everytime I tried something for the first time (like transferring, dressing myself, even feeding myself and pushing up a hill), I would think how am I ever going to do this, everything felt way out of reach. To other quads keep working hard and believing!

Striving to keep improving
Im really happy with the way I have progressed in recent times, and I thought I would put some videos/posts up to show everyone how far I have come and to show other quadriplegics and people that work with quads in their rehabilitation how I go about things.
On the week end I got from the floor to my chair on my own for the first time (using the couch as a halfway point), 2 weeks ago I did my longest ride on the road in my hand cycle 30kms, on March the 1st I had the best day of my life and married the girl of my dreams, and over the last 6 months I have got my license, started kayaking, got rid of my leg bag/SPC and started doing self catheters, started working a couple of days a week whilst continuing my study. I’m also playing wheelchair rugby twice a week and am really enjoying playing a physical team sport again.
Don’t get me wrong, Life has massive challenges, but I’m writing this with a smile on my face.
I would also like to mention how I’m really feeling for 2 blokes and their families who have hurt their necks in recent weeks. James Mcquillan was playing country football and Alex Mckinnon hurt his neck playing rugby league.
The injuries have brought back bad memories for myself and I hope both blokes can see a lot of improvement in the first 6-12 weeks.

Self Catheterising (hanging a leak)
Best thing I’ve done is ditch my leg bag and get rid of my SPC. The first few months was hard but well worth it. I forgot to mention I go to the toilet every 4-6 hours and I dont have to wake up in the middle of the night.

brotherly love
My brother Zak made this video for me for Christmas, I couldn’t help but tear up when I watched it (I was coming off 5 hours sleep. Thats my excuse and I’m sticking to it haha).
Family is something I treasure and I feel so fortunate to have a brother that is my best mate.
Being his older brother I feel that I have always been their to protect, help and look out for him. He has returned that 10 fold since I hurt myself.
Cheers little bro
